Numerical Simulations of a Cellular CDMA- Based Navigation System

چکیده
The basic concept adopted in the cellular code division multiple access (CDMA)-based navigation system proposed in [1] very much resembles the Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS). The proposed system setup employs CDMA base transceiver stations (BTS) with an auxiliary mapping receiver used for estimating the BTS clock biases. The estimated BTS clock biases and the pseudorange measurements are employed in order to estimate the position and clock bias of the navigating receiver. We develop a code for the implementation of the proposed navigation system [1]. The code is implemented based on the experimental setup presented in [1] and the numerical results are compared with the experimental results reported in [1]. We discuss and analyze any inconsistency in the results. We also highlight few drawbacks of the proposed navigation system and present intuitive remedy for future consideration.

Orthogonal and quasi-orthogonal codes are integral part of any DSCDMA based cellular systems. Orthogonal codes are ideal for use in perfectly synchronous scenario like downlink cellular communication. Quasi-orthogonal codes are preferred over orthogonal codes in the uplink communication where perfect synchronization cannot be achieved. In this paper, we attempt to compare orthogonal and quasi-o...
